Harbour Lights Festival
Weekend pass · Fri 13 – Sun 15 Sep
For festivals
Weekend passes, day tickets, camping and parking — every ticket type drawing from the capacity it actually uses. One event page, one basket, one scanner that knows which day it is.
Capacity pools
Each ticket type declares which pools it draws from. The database enforces it, so the last Saturday place is sold exactly once — whether it goes to a weekend pass or a Saturday day ticket, and however many people are checking out at that moment.
| Ticket type | Friday 4,000 places | Saturday 4,000 places | Sunday 3,000 places | Camping 600 pitches | Parking 900 bays |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weekend pass Adult · £85.00 | Uses | Uses | Uses | Does not use | Does not use |
| Saturday only Adult · £40.00 | Does not use | Uses | Does not use | Does not use | Does not use |
| Saturday concession Student · £30.00 | Does not use | Uses | Does not use | Does not use | Does not use |
| Camping pitch Per tent · £30.00 | Does not use | Does not use | Does not use | Uses | Does not use |
| Parking Per car · £10.00 | Does not use | Does not use | Does not use | Does not use | Uses |
| Sold + held in checkout ≤ capacity, always. Held places are released the moment a basket expires. | |||||
Sales windows
Every ticket type has its own opening and closing time, its own quantity, and its own limits per order. Schedule the whole run once and the clock does the rest.

The festival ticket
A weekend pass is one ticket with entitlements for three occurrences and two zones. Scan it at the campsite gate on Friday and the arena on Sunday — both say Valid. Scan a Friday-only ticket on Saturday and the scanner says Wrong day, in words.
High-demand onsales
For the sales you know will spike, a managed waiting room sits in front of the event page. Buyers see a branded queue with an honest estimate, and your capacity stays exactly what you set — the queue protects the doors, the database controls the tickets.
Open the waiting room ahead of the onsale so the first second isn’t a stampede. Positions are held fairly; refreshing doesn’t help or hurt.
Rate limits, bot detection and a quiet human check at checkout. Purchase limits per buyer are enforced on the server, not in the browser.
If something’s wrong, stop new baskets immediately. Paid orders stay paid, tickets stay valid, and you restart when you’re ready.
Festival questions
Yes. Up to your per-order limit, in a single payment. Names can be added to each ticket afterwards, and any ticket can be transferred to a friend by email.
Weekend passes draw from every day’s pool, so if Saturday is full, weekend passes are automatically sold out too. You can never issue more Saturday entitlements than Saturday capacity.
Yes. They’re ticket types with their own capacity pools, so they never eat into arena capacity, and the scanner treats the campsite gate as its own entrance.
You can postpone an occurrence and migrate tickets to the replacement date, or cancel it and refund. Either way you see a preview first — orders, tickets, refund total and the emails that will go out — before anything runs.
